What your bathroom costs in Dublin
Two taps: the kind of job, and whether anything moves. The answer is the range Dublin firms publish for it.
Published Dublin range for this job
€5,000 to €9,000
Published Dublin prices for this job, read 3 November 2026. LN Bathroom Renovations: €5,000 to €7,000 (basic refresh, same layout (3 to 4 m²)); Tile Merchant: €5,000 to €9,000 (cosmetic refresh, Dublin).
- Tiling labour runs €45 to €80 a m² in Dublin, on top of the tiles (LN Bathroom Renovations).
- A skip is €350 to €550, plus €150 to €250 for a parking permit in the city centre (Tile Merchant).
- Electrics by a Registered Electrical Contractor, who gives you a completion certificate (CRU).
How this is worked out
The range runs from the lowest to the highest figure that Dublin bathroom firms and a price guide publish for that kind of job (LN Bathroom Renovations, Kev Decor, Dublin Plumber 24hrs, Tile Merchant's Dublin column). "+" means one of them gives no top figure. Moving things adds Kev Decor's €1,500 to €3,000 for layout changes. The sum is ours. Prices read on 3 November 2026. Kev Decor adds no VAT; the others mostly don't say. It's an estimate, never a quote.
What fits
Six ways to make a small room work
- Shower, not bath: a walk-in shower with a fixed screen takes less room than a bath, and nothing to step over.
- Wall-hung basin and toilet: the floor runs under them, so the room reads bigger and is easier to clean.
- A sliding or outward door: frees the space a door swings through.
- Recessed shelves in the stud wall, instead of a cabinet.
- Large tiles, fewer grout lines, and the same tile on floor and walls.
- A mirror cabinet with a light, and a good fan: small rooms steam up fastest.

Tiles
The tiling sum, roughly
A 2 m × 2 m room tiled floor to ceiling on three walls is about 4 m² of floor and 20 m² of wall, so close to 24 m². At LN Bathroom Renovations' Dublin rate of €45 to €80 a m² for fitting, that's €1,080 to €1,920 in labour alone, before the tiles. Our arithmetic. Tiling the shower walls fully and half-tiling the rest can nearly halve it.

Before anyone comes to price it
- Measure the room, wall to wall, and the window and door.
- Decide if the toilet and shower stay where they are. Moving them adds pipework.
- Check where the hot water comes from: a cylinder, a combi boiler or an electric shower.
- In an apartment, ask the management company about access, lifts, working hours and parking for the skip.
- Ask for a written price that lists the strip-out, tanking, tiling, fittings, electrics and VAT.
